Brilliant Helps Community After Sandy

When Sandy hit on October 29, Brilliant staff and their families didn’t hesitate to help those impacted in our community.  We are extremely proud of these efforts and thank our staff for giving back, as always. Some examples include:
  • Searching for and rescuing other families
  • Delivering clothing to distribution centers
  • Offering warm beverages to utility workers
  • Cutting down trees
  • Helping families obtain temporary heat in their homes

We’d like to particularly note that food and monetary donations were made to:

  • The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties including a significant donation from an organization in which Brilliant is involved, the Brunswick Area Networking Group.
  • Those impacted by Sandy in the Bucks County area – Employees from our Bensalem, PA office picked up food provided through NJ State Senator Dianne Allen’s office, with the assistance of PA State Representative Rosita Youngblood.  The food was loaded into trucks, including the Brilliant van, and transported to PA State Representative Tina Davis’s office in Bristol Township and to the Bensalem Township Municipal building, where Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo accepted the food and gratefully helped unload the trucks.

And of course, we should mention the Hurricane Relief Concert again which raised $15,000 for local organizations!  Over 300 people attended and six bands performed including the very special guest Before You Exit, which was kept a secret until the day of the show.  Read the Pier Pressure Press Release for more details.

As we did last year, we are sponsoring a family for the holidays through our friends at Interfaith Neighbors.  Our family, located in Asbury Park, was directly affected by the storm.  We are forgoing gifts to our clients this year and have decided to continue to donate to and participate in local relief programs. We appreciate each and everyone one of you and encourage you to consider doing the same!

Brilliant Advocates of the Year

This year’s Holiday Party was quiet compared to last year’s Brilliant Amazing Race (we need more than a year’s rest after that one!).  We still had some fun and also took some time to reflect on the year’s events, especially those more recent.  As with past years, Brilliant’s Advocate of the Year was announced. This year, two people were deserving of this award.  Please join us in congratulating Bobby Boehler and Barbara Bish for their extraordinary service to the firm!
