It is a good practice to note the date when the next year’s annual remediation fee will be mailed to the RP. Since all fees must be paid prior to the issuance of an RAO, it is crucial to know when the next fee invoice will be created by NJDEP to avoid having the invoice generated just prior to, or at the time of, the RAO submission.
In some cases NJDEP has cancelled invoices that have been generated at the time the RAO is submitted. However, LSRPs can check when the next fee will be invoiced by checking the Financial Obligation Summary Report, http://datamine2.state.nj.us/DEP_OPRA/OpraMain/categories?category=SRRA, and typing in the Program Interest Number. Knowing the invoice date can assist LSRPs in prioritizing RAOs and avoid having the RP pay an additional annual remediation fee.
