Brilliant’s Anthony Belfield Speaks at a Recent Meeting of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia
Brilliant’s Anthony Belfield spoke at a June meeting of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia regarding “the Circuit;” an initiative to connect over 750 miles of bicycle and walking trails throughout the Greater Philadelphia area.
Upon completion, the Circuit will link urban, suburban, and rural residents of Philadelphia, Camden, Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks County in Pennsylvania, and of Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, and Mercer County in New Jersey, to jobs, recreational areas, and to each other via a vast network of trails. At present, 250 miles of trail are complete.
The hope for the Circuit is that it will make the Greater Philadelphia region “stronger by providing a place for healthy transportation and recreation, connecting our communities to green space, and making our neighborhoods more attractive places to live and work.” An interactive map of the Circuit’s routes, as well as more information about the project, can be found on its website.
The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is an organization that “advocates for bicycling and bicyclists’ rights.” The Bicycle Coalition belongs to a larger coalition of organizations that advocates for and works towards the completion of the Circuit project. Tony spoke to a crowd of over 100 meeting attendees. More information about the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia is available on its website and on its blog.
