Brilliant Environmental Services, LLC (BES) was retained by a major retail gasoline company to provide on call environmental services. BES was contracted to complete immediate response activities at a Freehold, NJ retail service station due to a report of gasoline-type odors, emanating from a storm sewer catch basin. The retail service station was banned from accepting fuel deliveries pending the results of the investigation.
BES coordinated its response efforts with the client, the client’s tank system testing contractor, and local and state officials. BES screening all accessible utility opening using a photo ionization detector (PID) and combustible gas meter. Following review of the utility screening results and the tank system testing results state and local officials lifted the delivery ban and the station resumed operations.
